The itinerary we are considering would include Sydney, Melbourne and Tasmania, with a focus on quilting, textiles, handwork and some of Australia’s iconic experiences.
Some of the highlights we are looking at include:
- ?? Sydney – Sydney Harbour, Opera House, The Rocks and other iconic sights
- Melbourne – Australasian Quilt Convention and plenty of time to enjoy the show and shopping
- Handwork & textile experiences – we are looking for something special and hands-on, such as a textile museum, weaving, fibre arts or a unique local craft experience
- Tasmania – exploring Hobart and the surrounding area
- Salamanca Market – we would plan the itinerary so we could experience this wonderful Saturday market
We would be looking at 4-star hotels, a local Australian tour manager, transportation, domestic flights and sightseeing.
At this stage, an estimated cost would be approximately $12,000 CAD per person, plus travel insurance and any optional extras.
Please keep in mind that this is only an estimated planning figure for 2028, not a final quote. Flights cannot be confirmed or finalized until approximately 11 months before departure, so the final price will depend on airfare, hotels and other arrangements available at that time.
The first step is simply to see if we can get 20 people interested in travelling. Once we have approximately 20 interested travellers, we can work with Ellison to develop a detailed 2028 proposal and obtain more accurate pricing.
So, who would be interested in joining us for this Australian adventure? ?
Please let me know if you would like to be included on the interested list. There is no commitment at this stage — we are simply trying to determine whether there is enough interest to move forward.
I think this could be a really wonderful trip!
